UKELA’s 2017 Conference cast light on the role of lawyers and regulators in making cities more sustainable, sharing knowledge and best practice relevant to the UK context.

The plenaries sessions:

• Look at the global role of cities and city governance, in particular in relation to addressing climate change;
• Review the tools for designing sustainable cities – such as planning & building regulations; and
• Assess current and future practice in legal frameworks to address the most serious urban environmental issues, such as air quality, biodiversity and waste.
